About Us

Who we are:

 

Travel And Tourism Agencies Council - ATTAC, is the UAE’s largest association of travel and tourism agents with more than 250 members from Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. It was formed in the year 2000 by a decree issued by Chairman of Civil Aviation Department of Abu Dhabi, and was made a part of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) in the year 2002.

 

What we do:

 

  • ATTAC guides and assists travel agents and tour operators in enhancing their professional capabilities, so as to provide better travel services to the public.

  • We submit recommendations to concerned authorities to support the development of the travel and tourism trade market in line with international practices and standards.

  • ATTAC is continuously auditing the travel market for illegal malpractices, in order to protect it from frauds against the travel and tourism industry and most importantly the client; in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Abu Dhabi Tourism And Culture Authority, by fostering fair competition among the members and industry partners.

  • ATTAC is the official council for conducting agency accreditation inspections and reports for the International Air Transport Association – IATA in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

 

Organizational Structure:

 

ATTAC is operated and managed by the Secretary General, headed by a Board of Directors that consist of six members directed by the Chairman; in which functions as the planning and operations authority for ATTAC, in addition to laying down the strategies and relationships with concerned governments agencies and travel market.

 

ATTAC's Objectives:

 

  • Enhancing the professional quality of travel and tourism trade partners to improve the travel industry standards in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

  • Introducing a regulatory system in order to eliminate unethical practices in the travel industry leading to inequitable competition among the member agents.

  • Implementing and maintaining the 7% commission policy for international and 5% for GCC on all air tickets’ sales as service fee/charges with no exceptions as stipulated in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

  • Getting the recognition of international specialized organizations such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and United Federation of Travel Agents’ Associations (UFTAA)

  • Coordinating between travel agents, tour operators, competent government agencies and international organizations, submitting recommendations to concerned authorities in reference to the steps introduced to develop the travel trade in line with international standards

  • To maintain a close cooperation with all Airlines in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi through the Board of Airlines Representatives (BAR) for the mutual interest of the aviation and travel industry stake holders.
